Math:  Students continue to practice multiplication.  At home students can review multiplication facts with flashcards or math card games.

Reading:  We will be studying the story "A Walk in the Desert" about animals and plants that live in desert climates.  The focus of the week is to study main ideas and details in non-fiction.  Students will also look at cause and effect.

Language Arts:  Students will complete the final draft of their How To projects and continue to study and write different kinds of poetry.

March 11

This week we have been focused on multiplying two digit numbers.  It is very important that students know the basic multiplication facts in order to be successful at this. www.factmonster.com is an excellent site with virtual flashcards.  Students also know many games to practice facts.

Students are also completing an informative writing assignment.  They will write step-by-step instructions and add illustrations.

Students are also learning how to write clerihew and limerick poems.
