Gingerbread Houses

On Tuesday students made gingerbread houses. We had a large number of parent volunteers, which was great. I think we had more parents than any other year.

December 7-11

Math: Students will continue to work on multiplication this week. They will be able to test on facts later this week.

Reading: Students will ready Mystic Horse and discuss story structure and legends.

Language Arts: Students will work on their book club projects, which are due Thursday. They will also write using interesting verbs.

Week of November 29- December 3

Math: We are working on multiplication strategies. We are reading Greg Tang's The Best of Time and practicing the methods Tang uses to find products. Students will make their own copy of the strategies in The Best of Times so they'll have a reference.

Reading: We are reading non-fiction stories about horses this week. Students will practice identifying the main idea and supporting details. Students will continue to look for author's purpose when reading.

Language Arts: Students are working on their book club projects. A handout detailing the assignment was passed out on Tuesday. If you need another copy, please ask.

Academies are working on geometry.
