We are starting book clubs this week. Each reading group will select a book to read together over the next several weeks.
We practiced making inferences. We also read a selection from Highlights magazine and discussed it. Students then acted out the story in small groups.
We wrote about the MEA break in our journals.

Science: Students worked on planet projects.
Just For Fun: Look at the cool Rube Goldberg machine these guys made for their music video:

Math: Learning place value 1s, 10s, 100s, 1,000s.
Homework: Students who wish to practice can teach parents or siblings the place value game we played in class today. It only requires a deck of cards with the 10s and face cards removed.
Reading: Read to self, new vocabulary words, read the story "Astronaut Adventures"
Homework: Read at home. The goal this week for at home reading is 10 minutes a night for 4 nights during the week for a total of 40 minutes. More is encouraged, but 40 minutes of at home reading are required.
