Family Event!

Mark your calendars, this event is going to be a lot of fun.

DEAL ME IN… FUN MATH GAMES TO BUILD FACT FLUENCY !

Who: Parents, Teachers and K-5 Otsego Students

When: Thursday, March 4th

5:30 Dinner
6:00 Learn and Play Family Math Games

Where: Otsego Elementary Cafeteria

Cost: Free!

What: Teachers will generally agree that students who know basic math facts demonstrate a greater level of confidence and approach math with a more positive attitude. The immediate recall of basic facts frees a child’s working memory for solving more complex problems. ‘DEAL ME IN’ is a series of unique and challenging math games designed to help students develop fact fluency. This isn’t a typical workshop…it’s faced paced and designed to be fun for everyone! You will learn to play TRASH, SWAP, PASS THE FACT, SPEEDWAY and many other games that you can put into practice in your own classroom the very next day.

Your Presenter: Mary Dank is currently the AYP Support Teacher at Talahi Community School in St. Cloud. With more than thirty years in education, Mary spent the majority of her teaching career in Northern Michigan, returning to this area ten years ago to accept a teaching position in the Department of Teacher Development at St. Cloud State University. Her areas of expertise include reading and math curriculum support and family engagement.
